Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Katherine Harper High, 86 of Seminary, who passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Boyd Thrash will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M., King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Brent High, D.J. Sullivan, Jessie Shoemaker, Tim High, D.J. Parish, Drew Warren, C.J. Sellers, and Cody Presnell.
Mrs. High was born on December 24, 1934 in Meridian, Mississippi to Rob and Frances Murphy Harper. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. High retired as a Dietary Supervisor after twenty-five years of service to the Hattiesburg Convalescent Home in Hattiesburg. She was a member of the Seminary United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. High; her parents, Rob Harper and Frances Murphy Harper; and two brothers, David Harper and Alford Harper.
Survivors include her four children, Jo Dove, and her husband, Vince of Columbia, Tennessee, Randy High, and his wife, Delma of Petal, Gary High, and his wife, Diana of Seminary, and Lynn Stewart, and her husband Rudell of Seminary; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Harper of Meridian; two sisters, Jewel Watts of Meridian, and Fredna Sullivan of Marion, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
