Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Larry Dean Mathis, 46 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at his residence in Mount Olive, Mississippi.
Reverend Dr. Bob Phillips will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Barnes Cemetery in Taylorsville. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi.
His pallbearers will be Samuel Bush, Dustin Patterson, Bret Parker, Ken May, Collin Walters, and Cole Walters.
Larry loved football and especially Mississippi State. He played football at Delta State in 1997-1998. He graduated from Taylorsville High School Class of 1996. He enjoyed playing golf and playing tournaments with his friends. He never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to everyone he met. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing his talent by cooking for a crowd. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Ralph Mathis.
Survivors include his wife, Cassandra Jones Mathis of Mount Olive; one son, Samuel Bush of Mount Olive; three daughter, Amberleigh Bush Hutchins (Logan) of New Orleans, LA, Emmaleigh Bush of Shreveport, LA and Kimberleigh Bush Patterson (Dustin) of Moselle; his parents, Gary and Renae Daiss Rice of Taylorsville; two brothers, Jacob Rice of Kansas City, KS and Chris Mathis of Lingle, WY; two sisters, Amanda Rice of Olathe, KS and Brandy Stringer of Tyler, TX; his grandmother, Myrna Rice of Taylorsville; and two nephews, Alex Cacciatore and Archer Cacciatore.
