Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Collins Presbyterian Church in Collins for Larry Joseph McCraw, 71 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Reverend Tommy Shields, Reverend Davis Morgan, and Mr. Bo Morgan will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mr. Bob Thames, and Mrs. Amy Pruitt, Pianist, Mrs. Barbara Brister and Organist, Mrs. Cindy Shields. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home and on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Jacob Navarre, Jr., Steve Sanford, David Sanford, Bo Morgan, Milton Rorie, Charlie Linville, Art Pollock, and Jeffrey Garrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Collins Presbyterian Church Elders, Danny Bryant, Ronnie Eaves, Carlton McRaney; Billy Stevens, Ray Abercrombie, David Ducksworth, Mark Morgan, Paul Garrett, Davis Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Joshua Rorie, and Gage Reese.
Mr. Larry was born May 24, 1948, in Jacksonville, FL. He was a beloved husband, father, pawpaw, great pawpaw and father-in-law. Proud Navy man, lover of his Lord, and loving Christian. He loved with all his heart and soul to everyone he friended. He most loved reading his kindle of the mountain men and spending time with his beloved family and telling stories of growing up and his days in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Nell McCraw.
Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years Carrie McCraw; two daughters, Robin Navarre of Collins, Shannon Sanford and her husband, David of Collins; four grandchildren, Stephen Jacob Navarre, Jr. (Ruby Michelle) of Belle Chasse, LA, Ashley LeAnna Sanford of Collins, Taylor Brooke Navarre of Belle Chasse, LA, Alyssa Gale Sanford of Collins; two great-grandchildren, Austin Daniel Deeks, Jr. and Reed Garrett Navarre both of Belle Chasse, LA; two sisters, Teresa Sanford and Pasty Sanford both of Seminary, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
