Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Sanford in Seminary for Larry Joseph Scott, 67, of Seminary, who passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.
Rev. Caleb McCord will officiate the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Julius Scott and Sonny Cooley. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Sanford, 655 Old Highway 49, Seminary, MS.
Pallbearers will be Keaton Lanier, Blake Scott, Jamie Scott, Clint Mayeaux, Austin Mayeaux, and Cade Mayeaux.
Mr. Scott was born December 26, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in the Belle Chasse suburb of New Orleans, and he lived throughout Louisiana before he moved to Mississippi. Mr. Scott did a little bit of everything throughout his career, but he was a welder by trade. He is affectionately remembered as a ferocious fan of the LSU Tigers. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Sanford, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Julian Scott; mother, Virgie Vidal Scott; brothers, Kelly Ray Scott, and Earl Crosby, and Cecil Crosby; sister, Bernadette Arcenaux.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Graham Scott of Seminary, MS; sons, Mark Scott of Hammond, LA, Troy Scott of Madisonville, LA, Blake Scott (Tammy) of LaRange, LA and Jamie Scott (Amy) of LaRange, LA; daughters, Angela Lanier of Tickfaw, LA, Sonia Redmon of Petal, MS, Victoria Scarbrough of Seminary and Leila Guy (Mason); brothers, Julius Scott (Celestine) of Covington, LA, Ronnie Scott (Marilyn) of New Orleans, LA and Richard Crosby (Lucille) of Gulport, MS; sisters, Dianne Parker of Bay St. Louis, MS and Carolyn Scott Lee of Hammond, MS, and Margie Luckado (Lucky) of LaCombe, LA; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
