Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Collins for Laura Grace Pearce Humphrey, 62 of Petal, who passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake and Reverend West Garner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Julia Rae Dean and Mr. & Mrs. Ricky Deen. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Lott, Adam Humphrey, Alan Humphrey, John Mark Humphrey, Josh Tillman, and Timmy Housley.
Mrs. Humphrey was born on July 16, 1955 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She retired after thirty –two years of service with Bell South Telephone Company as an operator and material service coordinator. Mrs. Humphrey was currently employed with the United Blood Services in Hattiesburg. She was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Collins. Mrs. Humphrey was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Pearce; and one brother, Robert Pearce.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew Humphrey and his wife, Jeana, and Samuel Humphrey, all of Seminary; her mother, Hilda Knight Pearce Pickett of Petal; one brother, Mark Pearce of Petal; two grandchildren, Ava Humphrey and Cody Humphrey, both of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
