Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Lela Mae Harvey Keys, 100 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.
Reverend Tony Keys and Dr. Joe Nesom will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jo Bucklew. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Brian Keys, Paul Keys, Clay Patterson, Jimmy Dale Yawn, Brody Keys, and Caleb Keys.
Mrs. Keys was born on April 28, 1920 in Collins, Mississippi to John and Lydia Clark Harvey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Keys retired from Covington County Hospital after twenty-seven years of service as a licensed practical nurse. She was the oldest member of Station Creek Baptist Church in Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lydia Clark Harvey; her husband, Walter Estus Keys, Sr.; two sons, Walter Estus Keys Jr. and Charles Estus Keys; five brothers, William Harvey, Robert Harvey, Harris Harvey, Sam Harvey, and John Hulon Harvey; and two sisters, Sarah Harvey Kemp and Sally Harvey Moreno.
Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Keys Patterson of Laurel; two daughters-in-law, Virginia Pape Keys of Collins and Betty Keys Hooper of Kemah, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Vicki Broussard, Clay Patterson, Steve Patterson, Reverend Tony Keys (Suzanne), Paul Keys (Kristy), Brian Keys (Angelle), Richard Keys (Pat), Karen Jacobsen (Mark), Patricia Keys, David Keys, and Billy Keys (Donna); nineteen great-grandchildren; twelve great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
