Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Collins for Lessie Broome Cauthen, 95 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Reverend Joseph Bird will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Cathy Cauthen Griffing, Mrs. Jacqueline Magee, Mr. James Arrington Goff, and Mr. Barry Morris. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Collins.
Pallbearers will be Dana Bannerman, Brad Cameron, Josh Nerren, Jerry Broome, Melton Broome, and Greg Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dewitt Napier, Tommy Cauthen, Billy Cauthen, and the members of the Ladies Outreach Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Cauthen was born on August 19, 1923 in Sumrall, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Cauthen was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Henry Cauthen; her parents, Eugene F. Broome and Leolar Russell Broome; and four siblings, Vernon Eugene Broome, Dewey Broome, Gladys Broome Williamson, and John Cleven Broome.
Survivors include Linda Sue Cauthen Nerren of Brandon, Nancy Elizabeth Cauthen Ragsdale (Mickey) of Cordova, Tennessee, Cathy Janice Cauthen Griffing (John) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Jane Carol Cauthen Maddox (Larry) of Columbia, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Josh Nerren, April Terrell, Dana Bannerman, Paige Banish, Brad Cameron, and Stephanie Maddox; nine great-grandchildren, Ashley Sanchez, Levi Nerren, Lyric Nerren, Brooke Bannerman, Brinley Bannerman, Isabella Banish, Harrison Banish, Tyler Cameron and Luke Cameron; and a host of nieces and nephews.
