A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for Linda Joseph Cliburn, 80 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Steve Miller will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by her grandson, B.J. Shoemaker. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
Mrs. Cliburn was born on June 22, 1936 in Hazzard, Kentucky. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Cliburn proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. She was a member of the Mount Olive First Baptist Church and attended the Liberty Baptist Church in Collins with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Alta Spencer Joseph; her husband, William S. "Bill" Cliburn; one son, Joseph H. Cliburn; and one grandson, William Joseph Cliburn.
Survivors include one daughter, Rene' Cliburn Shoemaker and her husband, Bruce of Mount Olive; two sons, William Anthony "Tony" Cliburn and his wife, Becky of Prairieville, Louisiana and Donald Andrew Cliburn of Mount Olive; one sister, Betty Forsyth of Freemont, Ohio; seven grandchildren, B.J. Shoemaker, Sara Shoemaker, Cody Shoemaker, Stephanie Cliburn, Darah Cliburn, Michael Cliburn, and Matthew Cliburn; and eleven great-grandchildren.
