Obituary

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins for Linda Gail Miller Thornton, 67 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Reverend Carl Joe Arinder will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Williamsburg United Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jackie Magee. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Warren (Cousin), Robert Wooley (Cousin), Mike Wooten (Cousin),Johnny Pope (Classmate), V.O. Campbell (Church Family), and George Lightsey (Family Friend).

Mrs. Thornton was born on October 24, 1950 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a graduate of the Collins High School Class of 1968. Mrs. Thornton retired from the Town of Mount Olive after numerous years of service as the City Clerk. She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church in Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Miller and Esma Warren Miller; and her brother, James Earl "Jim George" Miller.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Merna Sue H. Miller-Arinder, and her husband, Reverend Carl Joe Arinder of Mount Olive; three nephews, Warren Miller, Daniel Miller, and Jason Jacoby ; one great niece, Alexa Jacoby; one great nephew, Xander Jacoby; and a host of cousins and friends.
