Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 for Linel Blackwell Freeman, 95 of Gladstone, Michigan, who passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Pine Crest Nursing Home in Powers, Michigan.

Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Leaf River Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be her family members and friends.

Mrs. Freeman was born on October 11, 1921 in Covington County, Mississippi. She retired as a loan officer from the Wells Fargo Bank after numerous years of service in the Los Angeles and San Diego, California areas. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Baptist faith. She loved baseball, bowling, and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Plummer Blackwell and Adeline Robertson Blackwell; four sisters, Martha Jeanes, Jennie Lind Sanford, Amy Lois Thompson, and Clara Morse; and eight brothers, Winfred Blackwell, William Walker Blackwell, Eccle Blackwell, Virgil Blackwell, David Sanky Blackwell, Talmadge Blackwell, Burton Blackwell, and Henry Blackwell.

Survivors include her Significant Other, Genny Meyer of Gladstone, Michigan; seven nieces, DeAnna Humbert, Annette Pierce, Billie Sue Dickens (Harold), Jacaline Fleming, Henrietta Corley, Susan Bourgeois, and Liz Griffin (Bert); and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
