Lona Janell McQueen Keys

(September 1, 1938 – April 3, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Longview Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary for Lona Janell McQueen Keys, 83 of Seminary, who passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Brother Clay Williamson and Brother Darrin Webb will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Longview Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Wryn Mooney Morgan and Mr. Reagan Arnold.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at the Longview Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Longview Church Road, Seminary, MS 39479.

Pallbearers will be Denny Bucklew, Mike Faler, Tim Ellzey, Keith Bullock, Reagan Arnold, and Roy Arnold.  Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Sanderford.

Mrs. Keys was born on September 1, 1938 in Seminary, Mississippi to Woodrow Wilson "Bill" McQueen and Vera Lavada Gandy McQueen.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Keys retired after thirty plus years of service as a bookkeeper for several businesses including Buffington Ford, RJM McQueen Contracting, Inc., and Don's Farm Store.  She was a member of the Station Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Collins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Roy Keys; her parents, Woodrow Wilson "Bill" McQueen and Vera Lavada Gandy McQueen; one daughter, Candis Keys; and one sister, Jean McQueen Hosey.

Survivors include two daughters, Keena Keys Hull, and her husband , Chris of Collins and Connie Keys Yarborough, and her husband, Richard of Seminary; one brother, Don McQueen, and his wife, Kay of Seminary; one sister, Linda Jo McQueen Bucklew, and her husband, Gerald of Collins; three grandchildren, David Hull, Brian Hull, and his wife, Hollie, and Austin Yarborough; three great-grandchildren, Emma Blue Hull, Jake Hull, and Cotton Hull; and a host of nieces and nephews.
