Obituary

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Blakely Creek Baptist Church Cemetery for Louise McQueen Johnson Spell, 98 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee.

Reverend Dennis Campbell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Blakely Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music was provided by her great great-grandchildren. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be her family and friends.

Mrs. Spell was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1918 in Covington County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Spell retired from Boswell Mental Health Center after serving years as an occupational therapist. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ance and edith McQueen; her husband's, Herman Johnson and L.D. Spell; one brother, Dale McQueen; and four sisters, Edna Robertson, Melissa Herrin, Vondell Strebeck, and Elber Shoemake.

Survivors include two daughters, Dannelle Dillon of Magee, and Marlon Parks, and her husband, Robert of Calera, Alabama; three grandchildren, Rene Moore, Marla Martinez (Javi), and Christie Butler (Sean); three great-grandchildren, Xemenia Dillon, Brayden Butler, and Joscelyn Butler; two great-great grandchildren, Braiden Bratcher, and Sailor Storm Dillon, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
