Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Cooley Springs Baptist Church in Mount Olive for Louise Ponder, 69 of Sumrall, who passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Bob Goolsby and Reverend Reese Douglas will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Cooley Springs Baptist Church in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be Dale Rush, Lamar Hosey, Floyd Gentry, Dewayne Ponder, Cody King, Reed King, Ryan Deen, Brandon Deen, and Paul Eubanks. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Ponder, Sam Ponder, and David Ponder.

Ms. Ponder was born on August 16, 1948 in Mount Olive, Mississippi. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Ponder retired after numerous years of service as a seamstress in several local sewing factories. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Mount Olive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. Ponder and Eva Mae Sanford Ponder; one sister, Velma Hosey; and two brothers, Billy Wayne Ponder and Thomas Earl Ponder.

Survivors include three daughters, Frankie Norris, Renee Byrne, and Shannon Goolsby (Greg), all of Sumrall; one son, Corey Ainsworth of Collins; two sisters, Edwina Gentry of Collins and Barbara Simoneau of Decatur; three brothers, Jerry Ponder of Walker, Louisiana, Sam Ponder of Mount Olive, and David Ponder of Humble, Texas; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
