Margaret Ruth Brunt Mayfield

(March 30, 1929 – June 7, 2020)

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Collins City Cemetery in Collins for Margaret Ruth Brunt Mayfield, 91 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.

Dr. Joseph Bird will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery.  Special music will be provided by Mr. Joe Styron.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Styron, Tracey Lott, Joe Darrell Mayfield, Mackie Mayfield, Rayford Sanford, and Jimmie Baggett.

Mrs. Mayfield was born on March 30, 1929 in Collins, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.  Mrs. Mayfield retired after thirty-seven years of service as a receptionist and nursing assistant for Dr. Charles Tyler. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lynon Mayfield; her parents, T.R. and Erline Rogers Brunt; a sister and brother-in-law, Johnie Rose and Herman Pipkins, and a niece, Ilene Pipkins Lott.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynda Carol Mayfield Styron, and her husband, Billy Jr. of Braxton; one son, Dr. Billy Joe Mayfield of Key West, Florida; three grandchildren, Ricky and Hanna Styron, Jill and Jared Martin, and Max Mayfield; four great-grandchildren, Addie Styron, Austin Styron, Avery Lennon Martin, and Aly Ruth Martin; her nephew and niece, Charles and Patsy Pipkins of Collins; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
