Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary for Martha Jean Clark, 74 of Seminary, who passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at her residence.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Anita Humphrey, Mr. James Earl Clark, and Mr. Bob Thames. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Evergreen Baptist Church, 65 Evergreen Church Road, Seminary, MS 39479.
Pallbearers will be Randy Daniel, Roy Gill, David Humphrey, Stacy Humphrey, Larry Pace, and Mark Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas McCoy, Phil Lott, David Hillman, Bob Thames, Tommy Bott Rogers, and Neal Brewer.
Miss Martha was born on August 30, 1946 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Edgar S. Clark and Audrey Harvey Clark. She was a loving sister, and aunt. Miss Martha was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary. She loved God and her family and friends. Miss Martha will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar S. Clark and Audrey Harvey Clark; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Thaxton.
Survivors include her sister, Judy Clark Thaxton of Seminary; her nephew, Stephen Thaxton, and his wife, Jessica of Flowood; four great nephews, Carson Thaxton, Connor Thaxton, Tully Chapman, and Donovan Thaxton; and a host of cousins and other family members.
