Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Martha Joyce Hawkins Williamson, 88 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Joseph Bird and Father Tommy Conway will officiate at the services with a private family burial in the Collins City Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Dianne Speed. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cupak, Johnny Johns, Sylas Johns, Justin Williamson, Kenny Williamson, and Thomas Williamson.

Mrs. Williamson was born on May 1, 1929 in Vardaman, Mississippi. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Williamson retired from the Covington County Hospital after thirty years of service as a medical technologist. She and her husband enjoyed the military life in the USAF traveling the world and making life-long friends wherever they went. She loved and served her family, her country, and her community her whole life. Mrs. Williamson was a member of the St. Fabian Catholic Church in Hattiesburg and also affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zegie Payne Hawkins and Johnnie Lyons Hawkins; her husband of sixty three years, Howard Lee Williamson, a brother, Sam Hawkins; and a sister, Marceille Reisdorf.

Survivors include one daughter, Lynn Marie Williamson Elkins of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sons, Howard Lee Williamson, II and his wife, Tammy of Woodland, Washington, and Brian Allan Williamson, and his wife, Connie of Collins; six grandchildren, Cory Williamson, Crystal Williamson, Randee Johns, Kendall Cupak, Justin Williamson, and Kaitlin Williamson; two great-grandchildren, Sylas Johns, and Addison Johns; and a host of other family members and friends.
