Martha Jean Woolwine Sanford

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary for Martha Jean Woolwine Sanford, 81 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at her residence in Seminary, MS.
Brother Clay Williamson, Brother Joe Lott, Brother Wayne Woolwine, and Brother Jimmy Long will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Brooke Williamson, Brother Ben Lott, and the Sullivan Family Quartet. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, and from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church, 600 Old Hwy 49, Seminary, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Seth Gilmore, Barry Lowery, John Woolwine, Daniel Woolwine, Jamie Powell, and Tony Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Woolwine, Greg Sullivan, Billy Eakes, and Don Lowery.
Mrs. Sanford was born on November 19, 1943, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Cecil Buddy Woolwine and Minnie Ivell Ellis Woolwine. She was a homemaker by trade. Mrs. Sanford was a member of the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Sanford was a sweet and loving person and enjoyed spending time with her family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Buddy Woolwine and Minnie Ivell Ellis Woolwine; her husband, Tom Ed Sanford; one brother, Lamar Woolwine; and two grandsons, Wyatt Gilmore and Samuel Gilmore.
Survivors include one son, Carl Sanford of Seminary; two daughters, Beverly Sanford Cummins (Terry) and Mechelle Sanford Gilmore, all of Seminary; one sister, Mary Ann Woolwine Lowery of Seminary; one brother, Richard Woolwine (Connie) of Seminary; three grandchildren, Tommi Lynne Gilmore, Sara Jean Gilmore, and Seth Gilmore, and his wife, Mykaela; one great-grandson, Wyatt Hayes Gilmore; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
