Funeral services will be held at on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary for Mary Nell Bynum Mauldin, 93 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Brother Gary Bridges will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Wryn Mooney Morgan, Kristen Mooney Scruggs, and Keith Drennan. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m.until 11;00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 233 Smyrna Road, Seminary, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Steve Mauldin, Carroll Atwood, Harold Norris, Gary Cook, Don Mooney, and Keith Drennan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Scruggs, Mike Saulters, Randy Carter, and Ashley McNease.
Mrs. Mauldin was born on May 9, 1932, in Simpson County, Mississippi to W.E. and Katie Cook Bynum. She was a homemaker by trade. Mrs. Mauldin was a member of the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary. She was a noted seamstress, enjoyed playing the piano,listening to gospel music, and was an amateur artist. Mrs. Mauldin was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that loved her family and will be dearly missed by them all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Mauldin; one daughter, Rose Mary Mauldin Mooney; her parents, W.E. and Katie Cook Bynum; and twelve siblings.
Survivors include her son, William H. "Harry" Mauldin of Collins; two granddaughters, WrynMooney Morgan and Kristen Mooney Scruggs, and her husband, Jeremy, all of Collins; seven great-grandchildren, Allison Morgan, Aniston Morgan, Archer Morgan, Maebry Scruggs, Molly Scruggs, Mason Scruggs, and Murphy Scruggs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
