Mary J. Glascoe

(July 3, 1947 – July 5, 2021)

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary for Mary J Glascoe, 74 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Highway 49, Collins, MS 39428.

Pallbearers will be David Sellers, Gary Humphrey, Chris McGrew, Allen Young, Tommy O'Bryant, and Kenneth Belanger. Honorary pallbearer will be Sam Ayers.

Mrs. Glascoe was born on July 3, 1947 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, step-mother, step-grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Glascoe worked as a cashier at numerous retail stores in the area.  She was currently working part-time at Wal-Mart.  Mrs. Glascoe was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Bucklew Rainey.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-three years, Samuel J. Glascoe of Mount Olive; three step-children, Samuel J. Glascoe Jr. of Grenada, Kimberly Ann Glascoe Ayers, and her husband, Sam of Carrolton, and Maggie Ann Glascoe of Grenada; four step-grandchildren, Joshua, James, Waylon, and Summer; one step great-grandchild, Jayden; one brother, Terry McGrew, and his wife, Joyce of Magee;  one niece, Kristy Canfield; two nephews, Chris McGrew and Ben McGrew; and a host of other family members and friends.
