Mary Martinez Kay

(April 27, 1938 – June 23, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Mary Martinez Kay, 83 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at her residence.

Interment to follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mrs. Kay was born on April 27, 1938 in Plager, Texas to Charlie and Angelita Villarela Martinex.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Mrs. Kay retired after sixteen years of service as a cafeteria worker for the Covington County Schools.  She was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church in Magee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Martinez and Angelita Villareal Martinez; her husband, Lloyd Kay; her son, Jimmy Lee Kay; and one brother, Marty Martinez.

Survivors include her grandson, James Kay, and his wife, Terra of Mount Olive; her granddaughter, Erin McCalley, and her husband, Jeff of Smyrna, Delaware; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Kay, David Kay, Conner Xavier McCalley, and Ollie McCalley; eight sisters, Nellie Taylor of Victoria, Texas, Josey Flores of Angleton, Texas, Lupe Tamayo, Angie Aldrete, Stella Hinojosa, all of Houston, Texas, Lolly Aurora Rodriguez of Brazoria, Texas, Gloria Mireles of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Ophelia Aquilar of Clute, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
