Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Mary Cascio Taormina, 99, of Collins, formerly of Sanford, who passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Arrington Living Center.
Reverend Joe Lott and Father Tommy Conway will officiate the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Sanford. Music will be provided by Mr. Bill Rogers. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Byrd, Tommy Byrd, Greg McKinney, Michael Taormina, Timmy Loftin, and Marcie Cascio.
Mrs. Mary was born September 18, 1923, in Covington County to Joe and Phyllis Cascio. She was reared in Covington County and ultimately married Joe J. Taormina. Together, they owned and operated a service station and farm on Highway 49 in Sanford. Mrs. Mary also worked for several years at NECO as a quality control manager, and she was active with Veterans of Foreign Wars and the board of Covington County Hospital. In her later years, she grew very fond of her home at the Arrington Living Center in Collins. A lover of animals and beautiful flowers, she was a beloved wife, sister, and aunt, and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Joe J. Taormina; parents, Joe and Phyllis Labruzzo Cascio; siblings, Frank Cascio, John Cascio, Joe Cascio, Morris Cascio, Lena Cascio Taormina, Sarah Cascio, and Josephine Cascio Taormina.
Survivors include her nieces and caregivers, Elizabeth Ann Parvin (Larry) and Marie McKinney, both of Sanford; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
