Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Collins for Mattie S. Feazell, 86 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Jeremiah Keyes, Reverend Percy Holder, Reverend Bonus Brown, and Reverend Christopher Bennett will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Venia Park Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Ruby Keyes and Ms. Chandra Gillespie . Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home, Collins, MS 39428, and on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Macedonia Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Jarvis Spencer, Michael Spencer, Alex Feazell, Montez Lindsey, Jr., Montavis McLaurin, and Zay McLaurin. Honorary pallbearers will be her four sons and her five brothers.
Mrs. Feazell was a devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all. She married the love of her life, Leo, in June of 1952, where they began to raise their family in Collins. She loved her family with all of her heart, but most of all she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and might. She was known to her family and friends as "A Walking Encyclopedia". She was a faithful person to make sure that the sick in her community had food on their tables during their sickness or death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Feazell; parents, Granville R. and Eula D. Myers Spencer; one son, Malcolm Feazell; two sisters, Essie Lofton and Dorothy Meredith.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Feazell Owens and husband, Jerry of Collins MS; three sons, Leon Feazell and wife Bobbie, of Collins, MS, Levon Feazell of Collins, MS, and Montez Lindsey, Sr. and wife Glenda, of Collins; five grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; five brothers, Granville R. Spencer, Jr., Willie S. Spencer of Collins, MS, Charles E. Spencer of Oklahoma City, OK, Danny Spencer of Collins, David Spencer of Collins; four sisters, Virginia Foster of Hattiesburg, Emma Turner husband, Paul of Dallas, TX, Eula Spencer of Atlanta, GA, and Johnnie R. Spencer of Collins, MS; one great aunt, Vileioa Moore; and a host of other family members and friends.
