Maxine Speed Dees

(August 18, 1935 – February 2, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Maxine Speed Dees, 86 of Taylorsville, who passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Merit Health-Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Ronnie Purser will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Leslie Montague.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm. until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Highway 49, Collins, MS 39428.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Ronald Graves, Blake Graves, Colby Graves, Clint Cotton, Ricky Hancock, Andrew Holder, and Landon Keys.  Honorary pallbearers will be her great great-grandchildren, Miley, Carleigh, Parker, Baylor, Bridger, Vera, Saylor, Salem, Speed, and Lizzie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Ransom Leroy Dees; and her parents, Estus Larue Speed and Ola Mae Upton Speed.

Survivors include her daughter, Nelda Dees Keys, and her husband, Ronnie of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Lynn Keys Graves, and her husband, Ronald of Seminary, Julie Keys Dunn, and Scott Keys; seven great-grandchildren, Blake Graves, and his wife, Molly, Colby Graves, and his wife, Tristen, Heather McLain Cotton, and her husband, Clint, Halie McLain Hancock, and her husband, Ricky, Hartlie Dunn Holder, and her husband, Andrew, Landon Keys, and Lizzie Keys; and nine great great-grandchildren, Miley, Carleigh, Parker, Baylor, Bridger, Vera. Saylor, Salem, and Speed; and a host of other family members and friends.
