Michael Shane Ponder

(April 18, 1976 – December 15, 2019)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Michael Shane Ponder, 43 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Reverend Gary Roberts will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cooley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Austin Tanner, Kevin Cockrell, Brian Joe Grable, Jacolby Godbey, James Grove and Daniel West.  Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Shoemaker and Matthew Thompson.

Shane was born on April 18, 1976, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He spent years doing what he loved; working as an operator on the pipeline.  Shane seen many towns, states, sights; he seen the world in his years traveling for work.  He carried with him a gift of laughter.  Anytime you were in his presence you were laughing and he made sure of that; he shared it all over the world with numerous people.  If you knew Shane or come to know him in the last few years, you'd know every day he longed to see his mother, daughter, and dad again and today we rejoice that he is now holding them tighly in our Lord and Saviors presence.    John 5:24.

He was preceded in death by father, Tony Ponder; mother, Renea Bramlett; one daughter, Shelby Smith; grandparent, Brooksie Bramlett; and Howard Fosty and Roberta Ponder.

Survivors include three daughters, Kristen Ponder, Danielle Ponder, Ashley Ponder all of Mt. Olive; one sister, Tanya Bridges and her husband, Sam of Harrisville; three grandchildren, Wyatte Smith of Puckett, Adalynn Lott of Mt. Olive, and Maverick Hosey of Mt. Olive; grandmother, Marqueline Bramlett of Hattiesburg; one niece, Aryl Bridges, Harrisville; one nephew, Logan Bridges of Harrisville; one uncle, Jack Ponder of Mt. Olive; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
