Nancy Sullivan Ross

(June 15, 1942 – December 23, 2023)

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mize for Nancy Sullivan Ross, 81 of Mount Olive, who passed on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at her residence.

Reverend John Barnes will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mize.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Sharolyn Sullivan Magee.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 507 SCR 28 in Mize, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Martin Harvey, Zack Greer, Nathan Hall, B.J. Blackwell, Waylon Green, Dustin Ross, Darrell Ainsworth, and David Gunter.

Mrs. Ross was born on June 15, 1942 in Smith County, Mississippi to William Earl Sullivan and Thelma Harvey Sullivan.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Mrs. Ross retired from the Hattiesburg American after years of service as a free-lance writer.  She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as the church pianist and organist for numerous years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Sullivan and Thelma Harvey Sullivan; her husband, Doyle Raymond Ross; and four brothers, Fred Earl Sullivan, William Bennett Sullivan, Josh Sennett Sullivan, and Royce Earl Sullivan.

Survivors include her son, Raymond Todd Ross of Mount Olive, MS; two grandchildren, Dustin Michael Ross and Ashley Elizabeth Ross; special sisters, Nikki Davis Maute, and Anette Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
