Neil Delbert Rogers

(September 8, 1936 – December 15, 2025)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Neil Delbert Rogers, 89 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Alden Pointe Assisted Living & Memory Care in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Dr. Joseph Bird and Dr. Hal Hood will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Jennie Blackwell, Mrs. Babette Duty, and Mr. James Arrington Goff.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Bates, Coben Bates, Eddie Rogers, Nick Rogers, Greg Walker, Dr. Eddie Gibson, Dr. Hal Hood, and Mike Harris.

Mr. Rogers was born on September 8, 1936, in St Francis, Kansas to Lloyd and Mildred Jacobs Rogers.  He was a graduate of the St. Francis Community High School.  Mr. Rogers received his bachelor's degree in industrial arts from Ft. Hays State University in Ft. Hays, Kansas in 1958 and later received his master's degree in industrial arts from Colorado State College in Greely, Colorado in 1961.  His work career consisted of thirty-five years of service teaching Industrial Arts in numerous schools in Kansas, Colorado, Germany, Hattiesburg, and Seminary until his retirement in 1994.  After his retirement, Mr. Rogers worked as a Maintenance Forman for Forrest General Hospital for sixteen years. He was a devoted member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Collins.

Mr. Rogers was a loving husband, father, and Pops.  He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mildred Jacobs Rogers; and a brother-in-law, Robert Wotring.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Jacque Pearl Williams Rogers of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Annabeth Rogers Bates (Garren) of Hattiesburg; one son, Eddie Rogers (Amy) of Purvis; one brother, Troy Rogers of Monte Vista, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Billye Williams Wotring of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Tyler Bates and Coben Bates, both of Hattiesburg, and Nick Rogers of Purvis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Collins, P.O. Box 997, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.
