Ona Mae Dickens McNair
(August 20, 1924 – July 27, 2023)

Ona Mae McNair, 98 of Mount Olive, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born on Wednesday, August 20, 1924, in Collins, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 205 South 4th Street, Mt. Olive, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Rockhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mt. Olive, Mississippi. Bro. Carl Dickens, Bro. Gary Bridges, and Bro. Reece Douglas will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Kelly Woodard.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mt. Mrs. Ona Mae was a member of Sunset Baptist Church in Collins, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and friend.  She enjoyed spending time going to church, working puzzles, working in her yard, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Ray McNair; son, Thomas Ray McNair; father, Melton Dickens; mother, Bertha McKenzie Dickens; brothers, William Dickens, Alvin Dickens and Hugh Dickens; and sisters, Clarene Dickens Vickery, Dot Dickens Kilgore, Louise Dickens Smith, Helen Dickens Morgan and Isabell Dickens Deshields.

Survivors include her two loving daughters, Carolyn Ann McNair Prince of Mount Olive, MS and Martha Jane McNair Douglas (Reece) of Mount Olive, MS; daughter-in-law, Kendell McNair of Mt. Olive, MS; ten grandchildren, Laura Simpson (Jackie), Beverly Douglas, John Douglas, Ben Douglas (Jacqueline), Kathy McNair Hosey (Arnold), Ricky McNair (Sarah), Jessica McNair Thornton (Clay), April Valentine Yates (Mike), Josh Prince (Renee) and Laurie Prince Holder;  twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Beth Lewis Speed (Michael), Jake Lewis (Lauren), Krysti Matthews, Allison Eubanks Puckett (Jeremy), Courtney Eubanks Knight (Chris), Brent Eubanks, Dillon Douglas, Carmen Douglas, Austin Douglas (Adrienne), Will Douglas, Heather Hosey Wood (Travis), Katie McNair Williamson (Blake), Cami McNair Smith (Weston), Hope McNair Davis (Hunter), Gracie McNair, Carley McNair, Walton McNair, Madison Yates, Kyler Simpson, Cooper Cooley, Avery Cooley, Emmaline Cooley, Logan Prince, Haleigh Holder, Rhys Holder, Oliver Holder, Elliott Holder; sixteen great-great-grandchildren, Anna Speed, Kip Lewis, Lottie Lewis, Levi Matthews, Holdon Matthews, Ty Matthews, Grant Matthews, Drake McNeil, Myles McNeil, Christian Knight, Creedence Knight, Maci B. Wood, Kason Williamson, Ira Kate Williamson, Conor Smith, Jessie Smith; one sister, Minnie Dickens King (James); one sister-in-law, Jeannette Dickens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Douglas, Ben Douglas, Ricky McNair, Clay Thornton, Josh Prince, and Jake Lewis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Yates and Arnold Hosey.
