A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Evergreen Baptist Church for Pansy Davis, 86 of Seminary, who passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg

Billy M. King-Colonial Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pansy was brought into this world on January 19, 1935, in her parents' home in Seminary, Mississippi. She was a loving wife to a man that adored her, a mother to two children that cherished her, a grandmother to two grandchildren that were blessed with a grandmother that gave more than beyond a grandmother's love, and a great-granddaughter that she that brought life and light into her life. She brought laughter into the lives of those around her and a straightforwardness only a women of her boldness could deliver.   Mrs. Pansy obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught school at Seminary Attendance Center for over twenty-five years. Most residents of Covington County, over the age of 35 years of age can attest to having the privilege of Mrs. Pansy pulling their first tooth, whether she was their teacher or not.  Mrs. Pansy not only enjoyed cooking and baking mouth watering food and cakes for her family and friends, she also enjoyed working in her prized garden, while her body still had the strength to hold out in this Mississippi heat.  Her quietest moments drinking coffee with her family gathered around her, on the porch in the early morning, was her most treasured past time in her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sharp and Robbie Grantham: and one sister, Mamie Grantham Nicholson.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of thirty-eight years, Arthur Davis of Seminary; two Children, Karen Daughtrey Mooney, and her husband, Shannon of Seminary and Kenneth Daughtrey and his husband, Karl Raftery of Seminary; two granddaughters, Brooklynn Blakeney of Seminary, and Kara Judy of Pensacola, Florida; one great-granddaughter, Meadow Leona Odom of Seminary; and a host of other family and friends.
