Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Santee Baptist Church in Prentiss for Pansy Kay McCray, 71, of Prentiss, who slipped out into eternity to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Rev. Terry Sanders and Rev. Brad Roberts will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mack Cemetery in Prentiss. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Santee Baptist Church, 290 Santee Baptist Church Rd, Prentiss, MS, 39428.
Pallbearers will be Dion Pitts, Jeremy Pitts, Ronnie McCray, Jody Thompson, Ray McCray, and Kendall King.
Mrs. McCray was born December 31, 1950, to Clifton and Theola Ishee Pitts, and she received the gift of eternal salvation 45 years ago at Santee Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a caterer and florist in Bassfield before becoming a caregiver in Hattiesburg. Her family and friends remember her as having a giving heart, especially as it pertained to her baking, canning, and cooking. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Shauna McCray Bryant and Jennifer McCray Baylis; father, Elmer Clifton Pitts, Sr.; mother, Theola Ishee Pitts; brothers, Elmer Clifton Pitts, Jr., Willie Pitts and Rayford Pitts; son-in-law, David Bryant.
Survivors include her husband, Hollis McCray of Bassfield, MS; son, Jason McCray (Kalee Anna) of Bassfield, MS; brother, Jerry Pitts (Marivic) of Collins, MS; grandson, Gus Baylis of Hattiesburg, MS; granddaughter, Haley Pipkins (Justin) of Hattiesburg, MS; great granddaughter, Scarlett Pipkins.
