Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for Patricia Ann Pierce Chain, 76, of Mount Olive, who passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at her residence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 205 South 4 th Street, Mount Olive, Mississippi. Interment will be in Rutland Cemetery in Mount Olive. Pastor Steve Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mount Olive is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tex Strength, Levi Pierce, Donnie Knapp, Drake Collings, and Christopher Thornton.
Mrs. Chain was born Friday, August 9, 1946, in Columbia, Mississippi. After spending her formidable years in Mobile, Alabama, before she settled in Houston, Texas, where she and her husband and raised her children. She worked as a grocery store manager in Houston for many years before moving to Deer Park, Texas, where she last worked with Vopak Oil Company. In 2017, she retired and returned to Mississippi, where she and her husband made their home on the land where he was born. She always had a smile on her face and found the good in everybody she met. She loved spending time with her family, and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Levi Pierce; mother, Ruby Hopkins Walker; a son, Paul Larry Chain, II; and a sister, Lynn Knapp.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Paul Larry Chain of Mount Olive; daughter, Terrie Strength (Tex) of Collins, Mississippi; brother, Levi Pierce, Jr. (Margo) of Petal, Mississippi; sisters, Jackie Stern of Bay Minette, Alabama, and Faye Collings of Mobile, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Pam Fudge of Longview, Texas; grandchildren, Keith Robinson, Amber Wallace (John), Paul Larry "Trey" Chain, III (Irina), Jensen Chain, and Abby Chain; great-grandchildren, Aubrie Anzualda, Wyatt Wallace, Scout Wallace, and Callum Chain; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family would like to thank Ms. Johnnie and the Enhabit Hospice staff for all their care, love and support for Patricia.
