Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Peggy Kendrick Leggett, 75 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Brother Jansen Bounds will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Melanie Hubbard, Mr. Jeremy Wade, and Mr. Rodney Mooney. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive guests from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Rosa, Jeremy Wade, Mike Eaton, Robert Kendrick, Rodney Mooney, and Jason Mooney. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Kendrick, Ricky Kendrick, and Dalton Stanford.
Mrs. Leggett was born on September 18, 1949, in Collins, Mississippi to Lavern C. Kendrick and Erma Mooney Kendrick. She retired from the Covington County School District after twenty plus years of service as a cafeteria cashier. Mrs. Kendrick was a member of the Baptist faith and attended Ora Baptist Church in Collins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavern C. and Erma Mooney Kendrick; her husbands, Jimmy Leggett and Christopher Rosa; one brother, David Kendrick; and a brother-in-law, William Wallace Allred.
Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Leggett Wade (Jeremy) of Seminary; one son, Samuel Rosa (Kelly) of Hattiesburg; three brothers, Ronnie Kendrick (Virginia) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Robert Kendrick (Jo) of Andersonville, Tennessee, and Ricky Kendrick (Mike) of Laurel, MS; two sisters, Joanne Kendrick Allred and Sandra Kendrick Mooney (Joe), both of Collins, MS; seven grandchildren, Andrew Wade, Rachel Wade, Joseph Wade, Susanna Wade, Samuel Rosa, Ellie Rosa, and Nicholas Tannehill; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
