Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Seminary for Phillip Jason Essary, 38 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his residence.
Brother Jimmy Barber and Brother Gary Bridges will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by The Barber Family. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins and from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Essary, Clay Essary, Gerald Essary, Tyler Edwards, Noah Edwards, Cody Barber, Adam Mauldin, and Matthew Mauldin. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Wilkins, Dean Estes, Jacob Henderson, Jeremy Bryant, Geoffrey Crosby, Wesley Crosby, Matthew Collard, and Chris Hodge.
Mr. Essary was born on August 16, 1979 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was a graduate of the Seminary Attendance Center Class of 1998. Mr. Essary was a loving son, husband, and father. He was self-employed in the Heating and Cooling Industry. Mr. Essary was a dedicated volunteer fireman for the Seminary and Sanford Fire Departments. He was a member of the Baptist faith and attended Smyrna Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Reverend Elmer and Delma Vollman; and his paternal grandparents, Grady and Vermel Essary.
Survivors include his wife, Brittney Mauldin Essary of Seminary; his parents, Phillip and Linda Vollman Essary of Seminary; his parents-in-law, Steve and Donna Mauldin of Seminary; one son, Hunter Essary of Petal; two daughters, Madison Essary and Alexis Essary, both of Petal; one sister, Jennifer Edwards of Seminary; and a host of other family members and friends.
