Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Randolph Kelly Ray, Jr., 63 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Jerry Beam will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements. The funeral home will adhere to the state mandates on social distancing and the wearing of masks to protect our families and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Bob Shoemake, Merle Shoemake, Jamey Shivers, Kyle Mayfield, Randy Thrash, Mark Thrash, and Chris Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard McGee, Ronnie Dickinson, and Billy Guilbert.
Mr. Ray was born on March 5, 1957 in Collins, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Collins High School Class of 1975 and attended Pearl River Community College. Mr. Ray was the former owner and operator of R. Kelly Ray Poultry Farm in Mount Olive, and retired in 2017. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Olive. Mr. Ray was a loving husband, father, papa, and brother. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Kelly Ray and Louise Thaxton Pritchett.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty-three years, Bronna Griffin Ray of Collins; one daughter, Kelly "Kel" Ray Rounsaville, and her husband, Matthew of Ellisville; one son, Jacob "Jake" Ray, and his wife, Molly of Pace, Florida; two grandchildren, Owen Ray and Mattie Rae Rounsaville; two sisters, Randa Ray Mayfield, and her husband , Lynn of Collins and Suzie Ray Thrash, and her husband, Junior of Seminary; and a host of nieces and nephews.
