Rebecca Kelly Doley

(January 7, 1948 – October 8, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Rebecca Kelly Doley, 76, of Wichita Falls, Texas, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at her residence.

Reverend Jeff Walker will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Kelly Cemetery in Seminary.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the local arrangements.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10th at St. Mark's Global Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas with Reverend Al Easterling officiating.  Arrangements are under the directors of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, Texas.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 am. on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi.

Mrs. Doley was the daughter of the late Lillian Gilette (Fowlkes) and Willie Elzey Kelly.  She was born on January 7, 1948, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. After high school, she attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi where she received her degree in education. She taught in Jacksonville, Florida and Pasadena, Texas. She married Robert Doley Jr. on April 11, 1976 in Collins, Mississippi. Together they had two sons, Robert and Kelly. She was a stay-at-home mom and room mom extraordinaire while the boys were young. She then went back to teaching and spent 20 years impacting many students' lives through her teaching Kindergarten at Asbury Methodist Day School. She was affectionately known as Mrs. Doley to over 200 students that came through Kinder Neverland. She loved crafting and playing Bunco with her friends. She was also known as Grandma to her four grandsons: Noah, Eli, Clive, and Clay who loved her dearly.

Along with her parents, Rebecca is also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Roger Storer.

She is survived by her husband of 48 1/2 years, Robert Doley; son Robert Doley III, and wife Kelli of Wichita Falls, Texas; son Kelly Doley, and wife Shelly of Sugar Grove, Virginia; a sister-in-law, Lark Doley, of Jonestown, Texas; four grandsons, Noah and Eli Doley of Wichita Falls, Texas and Clive and Clay Doley of Sugar Grove, Virginia.
