Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Reverend Amos Carl Funderburk, Jr., 87 of Covington, who passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at NCH Place at Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee.
Brother Olin Carl Funderburk will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joe Nathan Funderburk, Kyal Mann, Braxton Mann, John Carter Mann, Seth Howell, and Nathan Howell.
Reverend Funderburk was born on November 6, 1937, in Savannah, Georgia, to Amos Carl Funderburk, Sr. and Frances Cleveland Palmer Funderburk. He retired after sixty-three years as a Southern Baptist minister. Reverend Funderburk was a member of the Triune Baptist Church in Arrington, Tennessee. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Reverend Funderburk will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by her wife, Jane Spell Funderburk; one daughter, Karen Corine Funderburk Howell; his parents, Amos Carl Funderburk, Sr. and Frances Cleveland Palmer Funderburk; one brother, Bobby Funderburk; and one grandson, John Issac Howell.
Survivors include two sons, Olin Carl Funderburk (Leigh) of Franklin, Tennessee, and Joe Nathan Funderburk (Denise) of Fordland, Missouri; one daughter, Kristi Funderburk of Leeds, Alabama; one son-in-law, Mike Howell of Ellisville, Mississippi; two brothers, Jerry Funderburk (Ann) and Ricky Funderburk (JoAnn), all of Columbia, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
