Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Mount Olive for Reverend Thomas Ray "Tommy" McNair, 68 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at his residence. ...

Brother Wyman Bradley, Brother Reese Douglas, Jr., and Brother Gary Bridges will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Vicki Mooney and Mr. and Mrs. Greg Woodard. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Rock Hill Baptist Church in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be John Sherman, Marvin James, Jr., Len Dickens, John Douglas, Ben Douglas, and Timmy Dupree. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Dupree, Edwin Sherman, Claude Dupree, Frankie Dupree, and Richard Dupree.

Reverend McNair was born on July 2, 1949 in Magee, Mississippi. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, and grandfather. Reverend McNair served as a Baptist Minister for the last forty five years at numerous churches throughout the area. He also retired after thirty five years of service as a market manager at several grocery stores. Reverend McNair was a member of the Sunset Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Ray McNair.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Kendell Dupree McNair of Mount Olive; his mother, Ona Mae Dickens McNair of Mount Olive; one son, Ricky McNair, and his wife Sarah of Collins; two daughters, Jessica McNair Thornton, and her husband, Clay of Mount Olive and Kathy McNair Hosey, and her husband, Arnold of Collins; two sisters, Martha Douglas, and her husband, Brother Reese Douglas, Jr., and Carolyn Prince, and her husband, Kenny, all of Mount Olive; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
