Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Jesus Name Holy Hill Church in Mount Olive for Richard Montgomery Bond, 38 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at his residence.

Reverend Bryson Haden will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Jesus Name Holy Hill Church Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Jesus Name Holy Hill Church in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be Adam Graham, Jimmy Graham, Robert Jeff Parrett, Bob Power, Charles Ray Keene, Jr., J.V. Durr, and Donnie Barnes.  Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Covington County Volunteer Fire Departments.

Richard was born on January 15, 1982 in Collins, Mississippi to Lester Bond and Shelia Parish Bond.  He was a loving son, husband, brother, and uncle.  Richard was a self-employed construction worker.  He was a dedicated fireman and first responder for the Hot Coffee Volunteer Fire Department for many years.  Richard was a member of the Sunshine Baptist Church in Mount Olive.

Richard was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the lake.  He loved his nieces and nephews as his own and was there to support them in whatever activity they were involved in.  Richard was a jack of all trades whether it was building a front porch, or fixing a leaky roof.  He was the first to volunteer to help anyone in need.  Richard was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Bond and Shelia Parish Bond, and his mother-in-law, Brenda Kay Keene Parrett.

Survivors include his wife of eighteen years, Debra Parrett Bond of Mount Olive; two sisters, Melissa Bond Graham, and her husband, Jason of Collins and Nancy Arinder, and her husband, Robert of Seminary; one brother, Charlie Bond, and his wife, Crystal of Collins; his father-in-law, Robert Parrett Sr. of Mount Olive; his grandmother-in-law, Dorothy Keene of Mount Olive; a brother-in-law, Robert "Jeff" Parrett, Jr., and his wife, Monica of Mount Olive; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
