Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Richard Wilson, 84 of Prentiss, who passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the Merit River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Mississippi.
Brother Brad Roberts and Brother Kendall King will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Wilson Cemetery in Bassfield. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive guests from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Wells, Tanner Saulters, Luke Saulters, Gary Wilson, Tucker Baker, Jeremy Wilson, Dylan Wilson and Mason Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Butler and Greg Sullivan.
Richard was married to the love of his life, Alberta, for sixty-six years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and growing watermelons. He was a hard worker and would always say he was looking forward and not worried about looking back. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and friend to many, and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Wilson and Maggie Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Woodard Wilson of Prentiss; sons, Richard Van Wilson (Elizabeth) of Collins, Ricky Alan Wilson (Loretta) of Collins and Gary Wayne Wilson (Gail) of Monticello; daughters, Brenda Kay Wilson Darnell (Randy) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Sandra Wilson Ervin of Bassfield and Karen Wilson Saulters (Luke) of Collins; grandchildren, Richard Van Wilson, Jr. of Oklahoma, Regina Wilson Burnett (Chris) of Hamilton, Missouri, Brandon McRaney (Hannah) of Magee, Dylan Wilson (Tiffany) of Collins, Karla Wilson Yawn (James) of Collins, Amanda Culpepper Pittman (Kevin) of Seminary, KaSandra Ervin Mixon (Marcus) of Mobile, Alabama, Jeremy Wilson of Seminary, Audreanna Wilson of Seminary, Desiree Wilson of Bassfield, Kayla Saulters Wells (Daniel) of Bassfield and Tanner Saulters (Amber) of Collins; thirty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
