Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Robbie Lou Lott Shoemake, 93 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, January 6, 2024 at her daughter's residence.
Reverend Mike Davis and Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Susan Deen and Mr, Bob Thames. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.
The pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Peter Shoemake, Jotham Shoemake, Andrew Shoemake, Bennett McPhail, Kerry Lowery, and Austin Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Earl Brooks, Gary Sanford, Bobby White, Shannon McGregor, Mark McPhail Chris McPhail, Ethan McPhail, and Robert Shoemake.
Mrs. Shoemake was born on October 14, 1931, in Seminary, Mississippi to Harvey E. and Effie Lee Ingram Lott. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mamaw, and sister. Mrs. Shoemake rotated days going to school with her sister, Wydell Lott Brooks, to care for their ailing mother for several years, all the while both maintaining good grades. She and her late husband, L.V. "Bennett" Shoemake, were the owners and operators of the Junction Restaurant and Lakeview Fish Camp for over thirty years before their retirement. Mrs. Shoemake enjoyed cooking big meals for her children and grandchildren. She was especially known for her homemade rolls. Mrs. Shoemake liked traveling and seeing the different areas of the world with friends. She was a charter member of the Grace Outreach Church of Seminary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey E. and Effie Lee Ingram Lott; her husband, of seventy-seven years, L.V. "Bennett" Shoemake; one daughter, Barbara Rene' Shoemake; two grandsons, Adam Christian Ford and Stephen Philip Shoemake; one sister, Wydell Lott Brooks; and two brothers, Billy Lott and Harlon Lott.
Survivors include one son, Reverend Glenn Shoemake, and his wife, Peggy of Collins; one daughter, Brenda Shoemake McPhail, and her husband, Charles of Collins; a foster son, Ivis Lenin Diar Corrales, and his wife, Vanessa of Honduras; four grandchildren, Robert Shoemake (April), Lydia Shoemake, Mark McPhail (Jena), and Chris McPhail (Whitney); nine great- grandchildren, Peter Shoemake, Jotham Shoemake, Andrew Shoemake, Bailey McPhail Davis (Austin), Presley McPhail Lowery (Kerry), Ethan McPhail, Bennett McPhail, Weiland McPhail, and Raiden Gooch; two great great-grandchildren, Harvey Scott Lowery and Olivia Kate Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
