Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Robert Lee Pittman, 60, of Laurel, who passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at his residence in Laurel, MS.
Reverend Chad Cummins will officiate the services with interment to follow in the Pittman Family Cemetery in Sumrall. Special music will be provided by Joan Summers. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, and again from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pittman, Jason Pittman, Chris Pittman, James White, Austin Craft, and Ashton Jones. Jason Pittman, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Pittman was born on January 22, 1962, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Clifton and Chellie Pittman. He grew up in the Sumrall and Bassfield communities and graduated from Bassfield High School. A carpenter by trade, he owned a construction company, Pittman's Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trading, and spending time with his family and his dogs. Lovingly remembered as a "jack-of-all trades" and a "horse-trader", he was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Richard Pittman, Sr., and brother, Clifton Richard "Ricky" Pittman, Jr..
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sandy Brooks Pittman of Laurel; mother, Chellie Lou Pittman of Sumrall; siblings, Patricia Ann McRae of Seminary, Michael Pittman (Patricia) of Collins, and Chris Pittman (Cindy), Clifton Steven Pittman, and Jason Pittman (Marie), all of Sumrall; children, Tonya Leigh Pittman of Collins, Carol Lynn Pittman of Collins, and James Benton White (Kristin) of Lumberton, Texas; grandchildren, Austin Craft (Heidi), Ashton Jones, Kaitlyn Jones, Mackson Jones, Hudson Gentry, Trevor Howze, Trent Howze, Zoe White, Emma White, Justin Miles, Eli White, and Easton White; great-grandchilden, Sidney Carter Craft, Zayden Lee Craft, Paislynn Teague, and Trevor Teague; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
