Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, Mississippi, for Robert Darryle Gentry, 60 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, at the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Mississippi.
Bro. Jon Neal and Bro. Marty Swanner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Bro. Larry Dennis and Sis. Jamie Swanner. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, October 26, 2020, at the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Cargile, Charlie Powell, Scotty McMahan, Bryan Harvey, Kelly Spier, and Matt Dilmore. Honorary pallbearer will be Chip Hunt.
Snag was born on December 14, 1959, in Magee, Mississippi. He worked as farmer and construction worker. He enjoyed working in his garden, hunting, fishing, and being around his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Geneva Harvey Gentry; one son, Dusty Gentry; one brother, Harold Gentry; and two nephews, Adam Chapman and Nathaniel Chapman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Gentry of Mt. Olive; father, Harlon Gentry of Mt. Olive; one brother, Carroll Gentry of Mt. Olive; one sister, Melinda Gentry Chapman of Mt. Olive; three nieces, Whitney Powell and husband, Charlie of Mt. Olive, Kayla Miller of Mt. Olive, and Erin Chapman of Hattiesburg; two nephews, Ethan Cargile and bride to be, Lexi Grantham of Taylorsville and Scotty McMahan of Taylorsville; two step-children, Tate Strickland and wife, Mandy of Laurel, and Bridget Strickland of Taylorsville; two aunts, Evelyn Robinson and husband, Dorsey of Pearl, and Charlotte Harvey of Mize.
