Rosie Padgett Riels

(October 17, 1928 – November 24, 2021)

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary for Rosie Padgett Riels, 93 of Seminary, who passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at her residence.

Brother Wayne Woolwine will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Debra Riels Martin.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Josh Deen, Brad Riels, Gary Riels, Harry Crumpler, Harold Martin, Taylor Riels, and Jack Deen.

Mrs. Riels was born on October 17, 1928 in Mendenhall, Mississippi to John and Mary Sullivan Padgett.  She was one of six children.  Mrs. Riels was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  She retired from Big Yank Corporation after numerous years of service as a factory worker.  Mrs. Riels was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Seminary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Osburn Riels; her parents, John and Mary Sullivan Padgett; a son, Bruce Riels, and five siblings.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Riels Byrd of Seminary; five grandchildren, Brad Riels (Dawn), Gary Riels, Debra Riels Martin (Harold), Laura Riels Crumpler (Harry), and Jamie Bullock Deen (Josh); four great-grandchildren, Caroline Deen, Jack Deen, Taylor Riels, and Gabe Riels; and a host of nieces and nephews.
