Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary for Royce Leon Brooks Sr., 74 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Brother Glenn Shoemake and Mr. Garrett McClure will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary.
Pallbearers will be Garrett McClure, Justin McClure, Nate Brooks, Jonah Brooks, Caleb Brooks, Ryan Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Mikey Barrett, Claude Graves, Cameron Atwood, and Zack Klaus.
Mr. Brooks was born on September 12, 1946 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Gaston and Hazel Norris Brooks. He was a loving husband, father, paw paw, and brother. Mr. Brooks retired as a truck driver after twenty plus years of service. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Brooks was a member of the Union South Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Martha Harrell Brooks; his parents, Gaston and Hazel Norris Brooks; and two brothers, Billy Gerald Brooks and Gaston "Wheeler" Brooks.
Survivors include one daughter, Donya McClure (Gerald) of Seminary; two sons, Royce Leon Brooks, Jr. (Angela) of Sumrall and Steven Ray Brooks (Lesli) of Seminary; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas Raymond Brooks (Wanda) of Collins, Rayford Brooks (Londa) of Morrisburg, Tennessee, and Kenneth Howard Brooks (Joanne) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
