Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Ruby Sellers Sasser, 89 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Brother Reece Douglas Jr. and Brother Stephen Bush will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Blakely Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Marsha and Steve Wade, Alesha Smith, Jared Bush, and Bonner Welch. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Chris Harvey, Wesley Sasser, Lance Sasser, John Sasser, Scott White, and Brian Beasley.
Mrs. Sasser was born on April 6, 1930 in Collins, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Sasser retired from the Covington County Schools after numerous years of service as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Blakely Creek Baptist Church in Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sasser; her parents, Virgil and Jewel Burnham Sellers; and two sisters, Johnnie Sellers Gentry and Janet Sellers Sullivan.
Survivors include three children, Bennie Sasser, and his wife, Beth of Collins, Opal Sasser Harvey, and her husband, Randall of Collins, and Marty Sasser, and his wife, Jennifer of Mount Olive; one brother, Clem Sellers of Collins; seven grandchildren, Chris Harvey (Tammye), Marsie Harvey White (Scott), Wesley Sasser (Kami), Lance Sasser (Kellie), John Sasser (Brianna), Taylor Sasser Busby (Jake), and Anna Sasser; three great-grandchildren, Lexy Harvey, Haliana Harvey, and Weston Sasser; and a host of nieces and nephews.
