Ruth Imogene Nettleton
(September 28, 1938 – July 29, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Ruth Imogene Nettleton, 85 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.    Bro. Chad Cummins will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Susan Deen.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Trent McDaniel, Lin Carter, Terry McDaniel, Steve Bryant, and Ricky Deen.

Ruth was affectionately known as Jean by her family and friends. Jean was married to the love of her life, Herb, for sixty-three years. She loved God and faithfully served her Lord and Savior alongside Brother Herb.  She adored her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Jean was an avid reader and loved cooking, especially baking.  Her family particularly enjoyed her cajun style gumbo. Jean will be remembered for her sweet spirit and contagious smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. Herbert Nettleton;  one son, Carl Nettleton;  parents John DeoGracias and Roma Hazel Nunez DeoGracias;  three brothers, Raymond DeoGracias, Johnny DeoGracias, Daniel DeoGracias;  and one daughter-in-law, Kathleen Nettleton.

Survivors include her daughter, Lana Nettleton McDaniel of Hattiesburg, MS; brothers, Larry DeoGracias and Billy DeoGracias; grandson, Trent McDaniel (Robin) of Sumrall; granddaughter, Dr. Andrea McDaniel Carter (Lin) of Hattiesburg;  great-grandsons, Kasen McDaniel and Colton Johnston; great- granddaughters, Madeline Carter, Noelle Carter, Mia Kate Carter and Amelia McDaniel.
