Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Sadie Jewel Kitchens Culpepper, 86 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.
Reverend John Reid will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mrs. Culpepper was born on March 30, 1934 in Seminary, Mississippi to George Benjamin Kitchens and Mary Adeline Collins Kitchens. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Culpepper retired from the Covington County School System after twenty years of service as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the Mount Horeb Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Culpepper; her parents, George Benjamin Kitchens and Mary Adeline Collins Kitchens; a son, Louis Edward Culpepper; a grandson, Chance Culpepper; and three brothers, William Earl Kitchens, Charles Kitchens, and Ronny Kitchens.
Survivors include her five children, Patricia Culpepper Smith , and her husband, Edward of Lumberton, Rodney Culpepper, and his wife, Rhonda of Petal; Sandra Culpepper Walker of Collins, Tommy Culpepper, and his wife, Renee of Collins, and David Culpepper of Collins; eighteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; eight brothers, Thomas Kitchens of Collins, Ervin Kitchens of Petal, Curtis Kitchens of Seminary, Kenneth Kitchens of Ellisville, Johnny Kitchens of Ellisville, Otis Edwin Kitchens, Rayford Alton Kitchens and Jerry Kitchens, all of Seminary; and two sisters, Bennie Kitchens Ingram of Ellisville and Grace Kitchens Biggers of New Orleans, Louisiana ; and a host of nieces and nephews.
