Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi for Sandra Lee Magglos , 70, of Hattiesburg , who passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Brother Johnny Walker will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Biloxi National Cemetery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Mrs. Magglos was born on Friday, November 12, 1948 in Burlington, Vermont. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Magglos was in the nursing field for many years working at numerous facilities in the area. She loved taking care of her patients. She was a member of the committee that organized the first Covington County American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Mrs. Magglos served as chairperson for the Relay for Life for several years. Being a cancer survivor herself, this charity was near and dear to her heart. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hattiesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha Campbell and Debra Ellison Craven; her stepfathers, Rudolph Simpson, and Ralph Craven; two sisters, Geneva Farrell and Shirley Campbell; and a brother, Larry Simpson.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Magglos of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Tina Broom (Mickey) of Collins and Tasona Jenkins (Casey) of Purvis; one son, Donald James Magglos of Washington ; three sisters, Annette Billingsley (Ray) of Pelzer, South Carolina, Doris Erwin of Star, South Carolina, and Carolyn Drawdy Greenwood, South Carolina ; five grandchildren, Mikalah Welcher (Corey), Jamis-Lynn Barton (Kiel), Sierra Jarrell (Tyler), Amanda Crosby (Lane), and Jace Broom, and nine great-grandchildren, Cayden Welcher, Caleb Welcher, Conner Welcher, Gibson Barton, Kenna Barton, Griffin Jarrell , Luke Crosby, Tucker Crosby, and Newt Crosby; and a host of nieces and nephews.
