Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Sarah Wavel Norris Smith, 90 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Arrington Living Center.

Reverend David McNeil will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pauline Lightsey, Mr. Jerry Clark, and Reverend Brian Dickens. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, and great-grandson, Clay Anglin, Chad Anglin, Eric Smith, Brett Smith, Alan Smith, and Addison Anglin. Honorary pallbearers will be James Earl Anglin and L.D. Smith.

Mrs. Smith, a Covington County native, retired from Covington County Hospital after twenty-one years of service as a licensed practical nurse. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Myrtle Green Norris; her husband, H.E. "Smitty" Smith; a daughter, Gail Smith Anglin; a son, Ted Smith; two sisters, Jewel Norris Nemitz and Rita Norris Docton; and two brothers, George Norris and Thomas Norris.

Survivors include two sons, and daughters-in-law, Stann and Patty Smith, and Lynn and Kay Smith, all of Collins; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Smith of Collins; a son-in-law, James Earl Anglin of Collins; two step daughters; three step-sons; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
