Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Sarah Annette Williams Fairchild, 91 of Petal, and formerly of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Petal.
Reverend Ben Skipper will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, Riley Mitchell, Otho Aultman, W.T. Howard, Scottie Williams, and Randy Williams.
Mrs. Fairchild was born on May 9, 1925 in Mount Olive, Mississippi. She retired after sixty five years of service as a bookkeeper. She worked for numerous businesses in the area during her working career. Mrs. Fairchild was a member of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Littleton A. Fairchild; two sons, James Lovett and Charles Lovett; and one grandson, Robert "Bobby" Mitchell.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice Howard of Petal and Angelynn Aultman of Sumrall; two step-daughters, Stephanie Fairchild of New Orleans, Louisiana and Sandra Bradley of Mobile, Alabama; one step-son, John Fairchild of Gulfport; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
