Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Cooley Springs Baptist Church for Savanah Haven Powell, 15 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Reverend Clay Ingram and Reverend Jim Ingram will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cooley Springs Baptist Church. Special music will be provided by Miss Chelsie Ponder, Mr. Cody Harvey, and Mr. Dwight Easterling. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be James Harvey, Chance Eubanks, Cole Ainsworth, Ike Smith, Robert Barske, Hunter Shotts, Zac Greer, and Brad Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sophomore Class of the Mount Olive Attendance Center.
Miss Powell was born on November 10, 2000 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was a sophomore at the Mount Olive Attendance Center. Miss Powell was a member of the Baptist faith and attended the Cooley Springs Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Daniel Powell.
Survivors include her mother, Stacy Ponder Powell of Mount Olive, her father, Mark Powell of Collins; her maternal grandparents, Anita Ponder of Mount Olive, and Joe and Tippy Ponder of Mount Olive; paternal grandparents, Joann and Dennis Knight of Collins; two sisters, Alexis Ponder and Katelyn Powell, both of Mount Olive; her boyfriend, Austin Carter of Collins; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other family members.
